Indulge in our irresistible recipe for fudgy Greek yogurt chocolate chip brownies. Learn how to create decadent treats that will satisfy your sweet tooth!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sugar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup (300 ml) plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk chocolate chips (optional )
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) walnuts (optional )

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare an 8″ x 8″ baking dish by lining it with aluminum foil or parchment paper, allowing some excess to hang over the sides. Lightly coat the foil with baking spray.
  2. Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat them in the microwave at 50% power for 1 minute. Stir well. If needed, continue microwaving in 30-second increments at the same power level, stirring each time, until fully melted. Once melted, mix in the vanilla extract. Allow the chocolate mixture to cool until it’s nearly at room temperature.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and cocoa by stirring them together.
  4. Incorporate the Greek yogurt into the dry mixture and mix until everything is well-blended.
  5. Add the cooled, melted chocolate to the batter and stir until thoroughly combined.
  6. Transfer the brownie batter into the lined baking dish, spreading it evenly. If you choose, sprinkle the milk chocolate chips and walnuts on top.
  7. Place in the oven and bake for 28 to 32 minutes. The brownies may appear slightly underdone when they are ready. Avoid baking them too long!

Notes

  • Consider enhancing the flavor by adding optional milk chocolate chips and walnuts before baking.
  • Remember to cool the melted chocolate mixture before adding it to the batter to avoid cooking the other ingredients.
  • To maintain a moist and fudgy texture, be cautious not to overbake the brownies; they should seem slightly underdone when removed from the oven.
