- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon fine salt
- 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, softened
- ⅔ cup (130g) granulated sugar
- ¾ cup (85g) powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ½ cup sprinkles (or up to ⅔ cup)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and fine salt in a medium bowl and set aside.
- In a mixer bowl with a paddle attachment, beat the softened butter with the granulated and powdered sugars on medium-low speed for about 4 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
- Gradually incorporate the flour mixture until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the sprinkles.
- Shape the dough into balls about 1.5 tablespoons in size and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spaced 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 11-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden while the centers remain soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For perfectly soft cookies, be cautious of overbaking. You can also experiment with different types of sprinkles for variation.
