  • Author: Anele
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A delicious and easy side dish of crisp green beans sautéed with mushrooms and finished with a rich garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Blanch green beans in salted boiling water for 2-3 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.
  2. Drain and immediately transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking. Pat dry.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until golden brown, about 5-6 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add blanched green beans to the skillet and toss to combine, cooking for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh green beans rather than frozen or canned.
  • Make sure to pat the green beans completely dry after blanching to ensure proper sautéing.
  • You can substitute cremini mushrooms with button mushrooms if preferred.
