- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound pasta (fettuccine, linguine, or tagliatelle)
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Red pepper flakes, to taste
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear shrimp until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add butter and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream, bring to a simmer.
- Add Parmesan cheese and stir until sauce thickens.
- Return shrimp to the pan, add cooked pasta and toss to combine.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Can be made ahead and reheated with additional cream or broth.
- For dairy-free version, use olive oil and coconut cream.
- Frozen shrimp can be used if thawed and dried properly.
- Any medium-width pasta works well.
- Adjust spiciness with red pepper flakes or cayenne.
