- 1.5 lbs sirloin steak (cubed)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter, divided
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 12 oz rotini or fusilli pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tbsp butter (for the sauce)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
- 1/2 cup sautéed mushrooms
- 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers
- 1 cup fresh spinach
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve a quarter cup of pasta water before draining and set aside.
- In a bowl, season the cubed steak with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, if using.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the seasoned steak in batches until browned on all sides. Remove the steak and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic, stirring until fragrant.
- Return the steak to the skillet, combining it with the butter and garlic. Remove from heat and cover to keep warm.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter and add the heavy cream along with the additional garlic powder. Gently simmer for a few minutes.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and Cajun seasoning. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens. Adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Combine the pasta with the cream sauce, adding the reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.
- Fold in the seared steak along with its juices. If using, add sautéed mushrooms, chopped bell peppers, and fresh spinach.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
