- 12 oz Cheese-Filled Tortellini (can exchange with ravioli or other stuffed pasta)
- 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 cup Heavy Cream (can replace with half-and-half or plant-based alternatives)
- 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese (freshly grated preferred)
- 0.25 cup Reserved Pasta Water (for adjusting sauce consistency)
- 1 tsp Italian Seasoning (or dried oregano/basil)
- 0.5 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (omit for a milder dish)
- 1 tbsp Fresh Chopped Parsley (for garnishing or omit)
Instructions
- Cook the cheese-filled tortellini according to package instructions and reserve 0.25 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tbsp olive oil and once hot, add the seasoned steak. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting time based on desired doneness.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest.
- Melt 2 tbsp unsalted butter in the same skillet and add the minced garlic, stirring until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in 1 cup heavy cream while stirring and gradually combine the reserved pasta water to ensure a smooth consistency.
- Stir in 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, and 0.5 tsp crushed red pepper flakes. Cook until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Slice the rested steak into strips and return it to the skillet along with the cooked tortellini. Toss everything together to coat evenly in the creamy sauce.
- Garnish with 1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For best results, avoid overcooking the tortellini and try adding vegetables for a flavorful twist.
