- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 carrot, grated
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 head of butter lettuce or iceberg lettuce, separated into leaves
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and brown it, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Add the diced bell peppers, grated carrot, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
- Serve the beef mixture in the lettuce leaves and garnish with sliced green onions.
Notes
Adjust soy sauce and hoisin sauce to your taste. Consider adding chili sauce for heat or garnishing with additional vegetables.
