Ingredients

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 8 oz cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Olive oil, for cooking
  • Sour cream, for serving
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Lime wedges, for serving
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add ground turkey or chicken, browning until golden.
  3. Sprinkle in taco seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper, stirring to coat the meat.
  4. Pour in diced tomatoes, black beans, and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
  5. Let the mixture simmer, allowing flavors to meld.
  6. Add cubed cream cheese and stir continuously until melted and creamy.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  8. Serve in bowls, garnished with sour cream, cilantro, and lime juice.
  9. Enjoy with tortilla chips on the side.
