Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and chopped onion. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the ground beef mixture.
  4. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and beef.
  5. Mix cream of mushroom soup and milk, then pour over the casserole.
  6. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and drizzle with melted butter.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  8. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
