- 1/4 cup cocoa powder (1 oz or 28 g)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (1 oz or 28 g)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (1 g)
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows (about 25 g)
- 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies (1.5 oz or 42 g)
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (1.5 oz or 42 g)
- 1/4 cup caramel bits (1.5 oz or 42 g)
- 1/4 cup hazelnut spread (2 oz or 57 g)
Instructions
- Melt the semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Using a spoon, coat the inside of silicone half-sphere molds with the melted chocolate.
- Place the molds in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to harden.
- Carefully remove the chocolate shells from the molds.
- In a small bowl, mix the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and salt.
- Fill half of the chocolate shells with a tablespoon of the cocoa mixture.
- Add mini marshmallows to each filled shell.
- Add crushed peppermint candies to some of the shells.
- Add mini chocolate chips to others.
- Add caramel bits to the remaining shells.
- Spoon hazelnut spread into some of the shells, if desired.
- Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Use the melted white chocolate as a glue to seal two half-spheres together, forming a ball.
- Run a warm plate over the edge of each shell to slightly melt the rims for a better seal, if needed.
- Refrigerate the completed hot cocoa bombs for 10 minutes to set.
- To serve, place a hot cocoa bomb in a mug and pour hot milk over it.
- Stir until the bomb is fully melted and enjoy.
Notes
- Customize your hot cocoa bombs by adding your favorite nuts or dried fruits to the filling.
- Enhance the flavor with dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet chocolate.
- Get creative with flavored marshmallows or different types of chocolate chips for unique variations.
