Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz or 170 g)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (3 oz or 85 g)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (1 oz or 28 g)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (1 oz or 28 g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (1 g)
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows (about 25 g)
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies (1.5 oz or 42 g)
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (1.5 oz or 42 g)
  • 1/4 cup caramel bits (1.5 oz or 42 g)
  • 1/4 cup hazelnut spread (2 oz or 57 g)

Instructions

  1. Melt the semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  2. Using a spoon, coat the inside of silicone half-sphere molds with the melted chocolate.
  3. Place the molds in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to harden.
  4. Carefully remove the chocolate shells from the molds.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and salt.
  6. Fill half of the chocolate shells with a tablespoon of the cocoa mixture.
  7. Add mini marshmallows to each filled shell.
  8. Add crushed peppermint candies to some of the shells.
  9. Add mini chocolate chips to others.
  10. Add caramel bits to the remaining shells.
  11. Spoon hazelnut spread into some of the shells, if desired.
  12. Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  13. Use the melted white chocolate as a glue to seal two half-spheres together, forming a ball.
  14. Run a warm plate over the edge of each shell to slightly melt the rims for a better seal, if needed.
  15. Refrigerate the completed hot cocoa bombs for 10 minutes to set.
  16. To serve, place a hot cocoa bomb in a mug and pour hot milk over it.
  17. Stir until the bomb is fully melted and enjoy.

Notes

  • Customize your hot cocoa bombs by adding your favorite nuts or dried fruits to the filling.
  • Enhance the flavor with dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet chocolate.
  • Get creative with flavored marshmallows or different types of chocolate chips for unique variations.
