Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 2 cups Lettuce, shredded
  • 2 Tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 Onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoncini
  • 4 oz Salami, sliced
  • 4 oz Ham, sliced
  • 4 oz Provolone cheese, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise.
  2. Layer lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pepperoncini, salami, ham, and provolone cheese on the bread.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and red wine vinegar, then sprinkle with oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. Close the sandwich and press down gently.
  5. Cut into portions and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Use freshly baked Italian bread for the best texture. Allow the sandwich to sit for a few minutes after assembling for flavors to meld.
