Ingredients
Scale
- 2½ lb ground turkey
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp basil
- 2 tsp garlic
- ½ yellow onion, diced
- 2 zucchini, chopped
- 2 bell peppers, diced
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- ½ tsp basil
- ½ tsp chili powder
- ¼ tsp paprika
- 6 oz. tomato paste
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, brown the ground turkey over medium/high heat, draining any excess water or fat.
- Stir in the turkey seasonings and mix well before removing the turkey from the saucepan and setting it aside.
- Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil in the pan and add the diced onion and garlic. Cook for about 3 minutes or until fragrant.
- Introduce the chopped zucchini and bell peppers to the pan and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the veggie seasonings and continue cooking until the vegetables reach your desired doneness, about 5 additional minutes.
- Return the ground turkey to the skillet and reduce the heat to medium/low. Stir in the tomato paste and water, mixing well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, avoid overcooking the vegetables and feel free to experiment with different veggies. Serve with freshly grated parmesan cheese and garnish with basil or parsley.
