Ingredients
- Ground meat (beef, pork, or a mixture)
- Breadcrumbs
- Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes)
- Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
- Soy sauce
- For the glaze:
- Gochujang
- Honey
- Additional seasonings
- For the spicy mayo:
- Mayonnaise
- Seasonings for heat
Instructions
- Mix the ground meat with breadcrumbs and seasonings
- Form into evenly-sized meatballs
- Bake the meatballs until cooked through
- Prepare the gochujang glaze
- Coat the meatballs with the glaze
- Mix ingredients for spicy mayo dip
- Serve meatballs with the dip
Notes
- Can be made up to 2 days in advance
- Adjust spice level by modifying amount of gochugaru and gochujang
- Can be made in a slow cooker after browning
- For gochujang substitute: mix 1 tablespoon miso paste with 1 teaspoon sriracha and ½ teaspoon honey
- For gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and tamari instead of soy sauce
