Instructions
- Prepare the hot dogs or mozzarella sticks by inserting skewers into them.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, stirring until you achieve a thick, smooth batter.
- If using, coat diced potatoes in batter before wrapping them around the skewered hot dogs or cheese.
- Dip the skewered hot dogs into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Carefully place the coated hot dogs into the preheated oil.
- Fry until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes, turning for even coloring.
- Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.
Notes
For a unique twist, roll corn dogs in crushed ramen noodles after frying or dust with powdered sugar.
