A delectable low-carb casserole that transforms the classic Philly cheesesteak into a hearty, cheesy delight.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (provolone or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, and cook until browned.
  3. Add the sliced peppers, onions, and mushrooms to the skillet; sauté until the vegetables are tender.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the heavy cream and half of the cheese.
  5. Pour the creamy cheese mixture over the beef and vegetable mixture; stir to combine.
  6. Transfer to a baking dish and top with remaining cheese.
  7. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
