- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken by mixing olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl, then add the chicken thighs. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated chicken for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Prepare the feta tzatziki sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, crumbled feta, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Once the chicken is cooked, slice it into strips.
- Assemble the gyros by spreading tzatziki on each pita, adding the sliced chicken, and topping with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion. Roll up the gyros and enjoy!
