Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cup (480 ml) s sweet rice flour
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) milk
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) baking powder
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s vegetable oil melted
- 4 cup (960 ml) s powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) vanilla extract
- 3–4 tablespoon (53 ml) s milk
- 1 drop food coloring optional
Instructions
- Place 1/4 cup of the sweet rice flour and 1/4 cup of milk into a bowl suitable for the microwave. Heat it for 30-40 seconds, until you achieve a sticky dough. Allow it to cool down to room temperature.
- In one bowl, combine the rest of the dry components. In a different bowl, whisk together the liquid components. Blend these with the cooled sticky dough. Knead until the mixture becomes smooth.
- Dust your hands lightly with flour, then split the dough into 8 equal sections. Further divide each section into 8 smaller portions and shape them into balls. Connect the balls to form a ring resembling a donut.
- Pour oil into a large pan or pot. Once the oil is heated, carefully place the donuts in and cook them for 2-3 minutes, or until both sides are golden brown. Continue this process until all the donuts are fried.
- After the donuts have cooled, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar with vanilla extract and milk. If desired, incorporate a few drops of food coloring for added effect.
- Submerge each side of the donuts into the glaze and allow it to solidify.
Notes
- Consider using coconut milk for a richer flavor in the dough mixture.
- Add lemon or orange zest to the glaze for a hint of citrus.
- Experiment with various food coloring options for a vibrant glaze.
