A moist and delicious homemade banana bread made with perfectly ripened bananas, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.
Ingredients

- 3–4 very ripe bananas (with brown spots)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
- Mash the very ripe bananas until smooth
- Mix in melted butter
- Stir in sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla
- Sprinkle baking soda and salt
- Add flour and mix until just combined
- Pour into greased loaf pan
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean
Notes
- Use very spotted or mostly brown bananas for best results
- Don’t overmix the batter to prevent tough bread
- Check doneness 5 minutes before recommended time
- For egg-free version, substitute with 1/4 cup applesauce or additional mashed banana
- Frozen bananas can be used after thawing and draining
