Description

Perfectly cooked New York strip steak with a beautiful crust and tender flavor, ideal for gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • New York strip steak
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Olive oil or butter
  • Garlic (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (optional, e.g., rosemary or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Remove the New York strip steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a skillet or grill over high heat.
  3. Season both sides of the steak generously with salt and black pepper.
  4. Add olive oil or butter to the skillet once hot.
  5. Place the steak in the skillet or on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it.
  6. Flip the steak and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare or longer for desired doneness.
  7. If using, add garlic and fresh herbs during the last few minutes of cooking for added flavor.
  8. Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Always use a meat thermometer to achieve the perfect doneness. Allow the steak to rest after cooking to enhance its tenderness.
