- 1/2 cup (120 ml) pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) natural peanut butter
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
- 1 Tbsp (15 ml) water
- 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) creamy peanut butter
- 5–5 oz (130–140 g) chocolate chips
Instructions
- Line an 8×8 inch square dish with parchment paper and put it aside.
- In a medium-sized bowl, blend the ingredients for the oat layer until they are well mixed. Spread half of this oat blend into the lined dish.
- Combine the ingredients for the fudge layer in a bowl suitable for microwave use. Heat in the microwave for 60 seconds, stirring halfway through at 30 seconds.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate mixture over the oat base. Scatter the rest of the oat mixture over the chocolate layer and gently press it down using the back of a spoon.
- Refrigerate the dish for approximately 4 hours until it firms up, then slice into squares.
Notes
- Try using crunchy peanut butter for a more textured oat layer.
- Opt for high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor in the fudge layer.
