Delightful blondies made with ripe bananas, brown and granulated sugars, and optional chocolate chips for a sweet surprise.

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and egg. Mix well until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
