Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or penne)
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), sliced
  • 2 cups cream or heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup spinach (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions, making sure it remains al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a little oil, then cook the steak slices until they brown. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onions and minced garlic and sauté until they become translucent and fragrant.
  4. Next, add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they soften.
  5. Pour in the cream and beef broth, mixing well to combine. Bring this mixture to a simmer.
  6. Add the drained pasta into the skillet, stirring to coat it in the creamy sauce. Let it cook for a few more minutes until heated through.
  7. Return the cooked steak to the skillet. If you’re using spinach, throw that in now and cook until it wilts.
  8. Season generously with salt and pepper to taste. Serve topped with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For added depth, consider incorporating a pinch of nutmeg or Italian herbs into the sauce.
