Description
A comforting and indulgent one-pan dish featuring tender steak, creamy sauce, and pasta that comes together effortlessly.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or penne)
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), sliced
- 2 cups cream or heavy cream
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup spinach (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions, making sure it remains al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a little oil, then cook the steak slices until they brown. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onions and minced garlic and sauté until they become translucent and fragrant.
- Next, add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they soften.
- Pour in the cream and beef broth, mixing well to combine. Bring this mixture to a simmer.
- Add the drained pasta into the skillet, stirring to coat it in the creamy sauce. Let it cook for a few more minutes until heated through.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet. If you’re using spinach, throw that in now and cook until it wilts.
- Season generously with salt and pepper to taste. Serve topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
For added depth, consider incorporating a pinch of nutmeg or Italian herbs into the sauce.
