- 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25-ounce)
- 4 large eggs (divided)
- 1 pound powdered sugar (about 4 cups)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Let cream cheese sit at room temperature until softened, or microwave in 15-second bursts until soft.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt unsalted butter in a medium microwave-safe bowl, let cool slightly.
- Mix melted butter, yellow cake mix, and 2 eggs using an electric mixer until smooth and thick.
- Spread the cake batter into an even layer in the prepared baking pan.
- In the same bowl, beat cream cheese, remaining 2 eggs, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter and spread evenly.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown around edges, with the center slightly jiggly.
- Allow to cool completely for 2-3 hours before slicing into 24 pieces.
