Description
A delicious homemade version of the classic Panda Express Orange Chicken, combining crispy chicken with a sweet and tangy orange sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon chili sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, orange zest, orange juice, chili sauce, garlic, and ginger. Set it aside to allow the flavors to meld.
- Coat the chicken pieces in cornstarch. Then dip them in the beaten eggs, ensuring they are well-covered.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the chicken until it becomes golden brown and crispy. Make sure the oil is hot enough to create that beautiful crust.
- Once fried, remove chicken and drain excess oil. Add the chicken to the sauce and stir well to coat each piece evenly.
- Serve hot alongside fried rice or lo mein for a complete meal.
Notes
For extra texture, consider adding sesame seeds or chopped green onions as a garnish before serving.
