- 1.5 lbs beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
- 2 bell peppers, sliced (any color)
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, beef broth, cornstarch, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef strips and sear until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Transfer the beef to a crock pot and add sliced bell peppers and onions.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the meat and vegetables.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours, until the beef is tender.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
Slice against the grain for maximum tenderness. Add other vegetables like snap peas or carrots for added nutrition.
