- 1 pound flank steak
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cauliflower rice (optional for carb-conscious)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add flank steak and cook until browned. Remove and slice thinly.
- Add onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms to the same skillet. Sauté until tender.
- Mix the vegetables with the sliced steak, adding garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- If using, stir in the cauliflower rice.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with provolone cheese, and bake for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For a crispy top layer, consider broiling for the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
