- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 lb thinly sliced beef
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 bell peppers, sliced
- 2 cups button or baby bella mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 2 cups shredded provolone cheese or provolone slices
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic salt (or salt + garlic powder)
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the thinly sliced beef, garlic salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
- Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside, leaving about 2 tablespoons of grease in the skillet.
- Add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until softened.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and cream cheese. Heat until the cream cheese melts, stirring to combine.
- Return the beef to the pan and mix all ingredients well. If necessary, transfer everything to a 9×13 pan.
- Sprinkle the top with shredded provolone cheese or layer provolone slices.
- Bake for 15 minutes until heated through. Broil for 2-3 minutes for a crispy cheese topping.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Consider using sharper cheeses or adding red pepper flakes for extra flavor. Serve with garlic bread or a side salad.
