Description

A comforting and hearty casserole featuring savory beef, colorful peppers, and melted cheese, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 lb thinly sliced beef
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 cups button or baby bella mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 2 cups shredded provolone cheese or provolone slices
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic salt (or salt + garlic powder)
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the thinly sliced beef, garlic salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
  4. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside, leaving about 2 tablespoons of grease in the skillet.
  5. Add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until softened.
  6. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and cream cheese. Heat until the cream cheese melts, stirring to combine.
  7. Return the beef to the pan and mix all ingredients well. If necessary, transfer everything to a 9×13 pan.
  8. Sprinkle the top with shredded provolone cheese or layer provolone slices.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes until heated through. Broil for 2-3 minutes for a crispy cheese topping.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Consider using sharper cheeses or adding red pepper flakes for extra flavor. Serve with garlic bread or a side salad.
