- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 15 g unsalted butter (1 tbsp)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil.
- Add the sliced onions to the skillet and sauté until soft.
- Add green and red bell peppers to the onions and cook until tender.
- Remove the onions and peppers from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the ribeye steak slices in a single layer.
- Season the steak with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Cook the steak, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
- Return the onions and peppers to the skillet with the steak.
- Stir to combine the steak, onions, and peppers evenly.
- Reduce the heat to low and lay the provolone cheese slices over the mixture.
- Allow the cheese to melt over the steak and vegetables.
- Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise and spread butter on the insides.
- Toast the hoagie rolls on a separate pan until golden brown.
- Fill each toasted hoagie roll with the cheesy steak mixture.
- Serve the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches hot.
