- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 can pineapple rings
- 1/2 cup maraschino cherries
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch cake pan
- Arrange pineapple rings and cherries in the bottom of the pan
- Mix dry ingredients in one bowl, wet ingredients in another
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, pour over pineapple
- Bake for 45 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean
