Description

Delightfully crunchy pretzel-crusted chicken breasts paired with a creamy mustard-cheddar sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups coarsely crushed pretzels
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup mustard-cheddar sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Prepare three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs mixed with Dijon mustard, and one with crushed pretzels.
  4. Dip each chicken breast in flour, then the egg mixture, and coat with crushed pretzels.
  5. Place coated chicken on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. In a saucepan, combine milk and Dijon mustard over medium heat until heated, then add shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  7. Let chicken rest for a few minutes before serving with the sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider using flavored pretzels or doubling the mustard-cheddar sauce.
