  • – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml)
  • – 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (5ml)
  • – 1 egg
  • – 8 oz cream cheese, softened (225g)
  • – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml)
  • – 4 Tablespoons sugar (60g)
  • – 2/3 cup powdered sugar (80g)
  • – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml)
  • – 4 Tablespoons milk (60ml)

Instructions

  1. SET your oven to 400°F and prepare two baking trays by covering them with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. EXTEND each thawed piece of puff pastry into two rectangles measuring 9×12 inches. Divide each pastry sheet by cutting once along the length and twice across the width to create 6 smaller rectangles.
  3. COMBINE the pumpkin puree, sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and egg in a small bowl, then put it aside.
  4. In a mixing bowl, BLEND the cream cheese, vanilla extract, and sugar until it becomes smooth. Put this mixture aside.
  5. ARRANGE 6 rectangles of puff pastry on each baking tray. Poke each rectangle several times with a fork.
  6. SPOON a portion of the cream cheese mixture onto each pastry rectangle. Add a spoonful of the pumpkin mixture on top, and use a toothpick to create a swirl.
  7. MIX the egg with water in a separate bowl and APPLY this mixture to the edges of each Danish using a brush.
  8. COOK in the oven for 20 minutes until they achieve a golden hue.
  9. OPTIONALLY, POUR a glaze made from powdered sugar over the top before serving.
