- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Add 1/2 cup of melted butter and 2 large eggs to the dry ingredients.
- Mix until a dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Add the remaining 2 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the can of pumpkin puree and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Add 3 cups of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg to the mixture.
- Pour in the remaining 1/2 cup of melted butter and mix until smooth.
- Pour the pumpkin mixture over the dough in the baking pan.
- Spread the mixture evenly with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until set but still slightly gooey in the center.
- Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing and serving.
