- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1½ cups warm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Combine warm water and yeast, let stand for 5 minutes until foamy
- Mix oats, flours, and salt in a large bowl
- Add honey and oil to the yeast mixture
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms
- Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth
- Let rise for 1 hour or until doubled
- Shape into a loaf and place in a greased 9×5 pan
- Let rise again for 30 minutes
- Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes
- Cool completely before slicing

- Quick oats can be substituted, but may require an extra tablespoon of liquid
- Allow bread to cool completely before slicing to prevent crumbling
