- 75 cup (180 ml) milk, room temperature
Instructions
- Set your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and allow it to warm up. Prepare an 8-inch square baking dish by greasing it lightly; you can also line the bottom with parchment or wax paper, or sprinkle it with a bit of flour.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt by sifting them together.
- In another large bowl, use an electric mixer to combine the sugar and butter until the mixture becomes light and airy. Add the eggs one by one, ensuring each is thoroughly mixed before adding the next. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually incorporate the flour mixture into the wet ingredients, adding it in 1/2 cup portions. Alternate with the milk, and briefly mix the batter after each addition until it’s just combined.
- Transfer the batter into the baking dish you prepared earlier.
- Place it in the oven and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center emerges clean, which should take about 30 minutes. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to finish cooling completely.
