- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 ounces pasta (penne or fettuccine)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until they just turn pink and form a ‘C’ shape, about 2-3 minutes. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add heavy cream, cream cheese, and Parmesan. Stir until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Add Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir to combine.
- Combine the cooked pasta, shrimp, and Alfredo sauce in a large bowl. Toss until everything is well coated.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- You can prepare this casserole ahead of time and refrigerate before baking.
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
- Add vegetables like spinach or broccoli for extra nutrition.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
