Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh herbs (e.g., parsley, thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and brown them on all sides.
  5. Transfer the browned meatballs to a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
  6. In the same skillet, pour in the beef broth. Bring it to a boil. Mix in cornstarch to thicken the sauce, then pour over the meatballs.

  8. Serve meatballs over a bed of garlic herb mashed potatoes.

Notes

Adjust seasoning based on taste; adding fresh herbs enhances flavor and color.
