Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Set this mixture aside for later.
  3. Cream the softened butter and both types of sugar until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, allowing each to incorporate fully before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until they are just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in the caramel chips and chocolate chips, if using.
