Description

A creamy and savory dish combining sliced potatoes and tender ham, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups sliced potatoes
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, then sprinkle with half of the diced ham, half of the cheese, and some salt and pepper.
  3. Repeat the layers again.
  4. In a bowl, mix the heavy cream and milk, and pour it evenly over the layered potatoes and ham.
  5. Dot the top with butter and sprinkle with garlic and onion powder if using.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbling.
  8. Let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Consider adding herbs or spicy seasonings for a personal touch. For softer potatoes, parboil before layering.
