- 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, thinly sliced

- Paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish, followed by half of the sliced onions and half of the cheeses. Season with salt and pepper.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, onions, and cheeses.
- In a separate bowl, combine the heavy cream and milk, then pour this mixture over the layered potatoes.
- Top with the remaining cheese and a sprinkle of paprika if desired.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Consider adding minced garlic or herbs like thyme for extra flavor. Let the dish sit before serving for cleaner slices.
