Description

Discover how to make irresistible spiced holiday nuts with this easy recipe. Perfect for snacking or gifting, these nuts are a festive treat everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
  • 3 cups mixed nuts (such as cashews, almonds, walnuts, and pecans) (360 g)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) salt
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) chopped fresh thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) ground cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Warm the olive oil in a big frying pan set to medium-high heat.
  2. Introduce the mixed nuts and toss them around to ensure they are covered in oil. Let them cook until they become more colorful and release a pleasant aroma, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, in a separate small bowl, mix together the salt, sugar, chopped rosemary, thyme, and ground cayenne pepper.
  4. Scatter this seasoning blend over the nuts and stir well to distribute evenly. Take the nuts off the heat and allow them to cool down before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the nuts are evenly coated with olive oil to prevent burning during cooking.
  • Be cautious not to overcook the nuts as they can quickly turn from perfectly roasted to burnt.
  • Adjust the cayenne pepper quantity based on your preference to customize the nuts’ heat level.
