Ingredients

  • 1 can (425 g) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup (240 ml) yogurt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) mashed avocado
  • 1 cup (240 ml) tomato salsa
  • 1 cup (113 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) chopped scallions
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) sliced green olives
  • 1 cup (55 g) shredded lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon (1.5 g) ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon (1.5 g) onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add the drained and rinsed black beans.
  2. Mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
  3. Stir in the ground cumin, garlic powder, and salt to taste.
  4. Spread the mashed black bean mixture evenly onto a serving platter.
  5. Layer the guacamole evenly over the black bean mixture.
  6. Spread the salsa over the guacamole layer.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded lettuce evenly on top of the salsa.
  8. Layer the diced tomatoes evenly over the lettuce.
  9. Scatter the shredded cheddar cheese over the tomatoes.
  10. Sprinkle the chopped green onions over the cheese.
  11. Add the sliced black olives on top of the green onions.
  12. Fill a small plastic bag with sour cream and cut a small tip off one corner.
  13. Pipe the sour cream in concentric circles over the top of the dip.
  14. Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center circle to the edge to create a spiderweb pattern.
  15. Serve the dip with tortilla chips on the side.
