Description

A hearty meatloaf infused with the flavors of Swiss cheese, crispy bacon, and tender sautéed mushrooms for an unforgettable family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup cooked bacon (chopped)
  • 1 cup mushrooms (sliced and sautéed)
  • 1 small onion (finely diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon until crispy; remove and set aside. Use the bacon fat to sauté the mushrooms until nicely browned.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, mixing gently.
  3. Fold in half of the shredded Swiss cheese and form the mixture into a loaf shape on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
  4. Press the remaining cheese on top of the meatloaf, along with the sautéed mushrooms and crispy bacon.
  5. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Experiment with different cheeses and vegetable mix-ins to customize your meatloaf.
