- 1 lb ground beef or cooked chicken
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 lb tater tots
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: diced onions or peppers
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef until browned and drain excess fat. If using chicken, ensure it’s cooked and shredded.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked meat, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and half of the shredded cheese. Stir well to combine and season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
- Arrange the tater tots evenly over the top of the meat mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
- Serve warm and enjoy your delicious tater tot casserole!
