- 8 ounces tempeh, chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the tempeh until golden brown on each side, about 5-7 minutes, then set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, water, soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce.
- Add another tablespoon of oil to the pan and sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the pan, allowing it to simmer for 2 minutes.
- Add the fried tempeh, tossing to coat in the glaze and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until well-coated.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider marinating the tempeh in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. Adding vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli can enhance the dish’s nutrition and color.
