Description

A savory and wholesome Tempeh Stir-Fry coated in a delicious honey garlic sauce, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 8 ounces tempeh, chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Fry the tempeh until golden brown on each side, about 5-7 minutes, then set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, water, soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce.
  4. Add another tablespoon of oil to the pan and sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture into the pan, allowing it to simmer for 2 minutes.
  6. Add the fried tempeh, tossing to coat in the glaze and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until well-coated.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the tempeh in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. Adding vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli can enhance the dish’s nutrition and color.
