Description
A classic Italian dessert featuring layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone cheese.
Ingredients

- 120 g of sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 400 g of ladyfingers (savoiardi)
- 400 ml of brewed coffee
- 500 g of mascarpone cheese
- Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
- A splash of orange liqueur (optional)
Instructions
- Brew coffee and let it cool, mixing with orange liqueur if desired.
- Separate egg yolks and whites. Beat yolks with 60 g of sugar until smooth, then mix in mascarpone cheese.
- Beat egg whites with remaining sugar until firm peaks form.
- Fold the mascarpone mixture into the whipped egg whites gently.
- In a tall mold, spread a layer of mascarpone cream.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger in coffee and layer them on the cream.
- Add another layer of mascarpone cream and sprinkle with cocoa powder.
- Repeat layering process for a total of two layers.
- Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
Notes
Serve in individual cups or a large dish. Top with cocoa powder or coffee beans for garnish.
