- 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups beef broth (or vegetable broth)
- 1 can French onion soup
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (or olive oil)
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Black pepper, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the diced onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef (or turkey) to the skillet, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Combine well.
- Add the rice to the mixture, followed by the beef broth and French onion soup. Stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the top.
- Return the dish to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra creaminess, consider adding sour cream or cream cheese. Experiment with different cheese varieties for unique flavors.
