  • 5 cup (120 ml) confectioners’ sugar
  • 5 red maraschino cherries, quartered, or as needed
  • 5 green maraschino cherries, quartered, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to preheat at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to blend the flour, softened butter, and confectioners’ sugar until the mixture becomes airy and smooth, which should take around 10 minutes.
  3. Spoon portions of the dough onto baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart without greasing the sheets.
  4. Gently press a piece of red or green maraschino cherry into the center of each dough portion.
  5. Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake until the bottoms of the cookies turn a light brown, approximately 15 to 17 minutes.
  6. Allow the cookies to rest on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack to finish cooling completely.
