Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup mini M&Ms or chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour, rolled oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the egg, then add honey, applesauce, and melted butter or coconut oil. Mix well.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in M&Ms or chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
