Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar in a large bowl.
- Whisk the milk and egg in another bowl until combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla extract to the batter. Keep finished fritters warm in a low oven while frying the rest.
