- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon lime zest
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg, lime juice, and lime zest.
- Stir in the chopped basil.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until well combined.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
Notes
For stronger lime flavor, experiment with extra zest. Chilling the dough for about 30 minutes can enhance texture.
